“Good and evil both increase at compound interest. That is why the little decisions you and I make every day are of such infinite importance. The smallest good act today is the capture of a strategic point from which, a few months later, you may be able to go on to victories you never dreamed of. An apparently trivial indulgence in lust or anger today is the loss of a ridge or railway line or bridgehead from which the enemy may launch an attack otherwise impossible.”

There are alot of decisions to be make in the next few weeks that are going to change my life in some way. And I’m ready to do this. Whether good or bad, evil or blessing, it’s not what happens to you, but how you react to what happens to you.

I just found out today that I hate alcohol and people who drink it. Not because I’ve ever harbored those feelings, but because the Rumor Mill has been grinding out wheat and oats of judgement that alot of my friends have been eating. Trust me, the oatmeal I make is alot better. Not because It’s perfect, but because it’s the truth no matter good or bad. I recommend it.
If your reading this and don’t know, I don’t drink. Not because I hate drinkers or alcohol, it’s because I made a choice not too. And I’m a control freak and hate the thought of not being in control of my body. The majority of my friends drink, and in moderation for that matter. And I love them no less than week before they turned 19.
If anything in this paragraph implies a hatred for people who drink, I’m sorry. Or apparently I’m not, because I apparently hate you.
Ask me next time, I’ll tell you.

I think I come off too P.C. and spineless on my radio show at the college. I usually have a little chat segment with Mark and Joe and we talk about whatever. I try to shamelessly let the audience know that we are just babbling and that “our views and opinions are not that of the college or WSGR” in a joking manner. I mean, we can’t alienate listeners, right? We gotta show that we aren’t just fascist male pigs and that we care about things too. But at the same time I don’t wanna back down from topics like Paris Hilton being a ridiculous role model and the epitomy of American indulgant ignorace, or the fact that there is a lot of dirty business and government corruption in this very town that graces the newspapers daily.
The other night I was watching “The Colbert Report” and the guest was Michael Smerconich, who is an author that just came out with a book called “Muzzled” about how being politically correct is stupid. And in his interview, he says something along the lines of “It comes down to this, quit checking the grandma’s at the airports, and start checking the guy with the turbin”. And there is a truth to that statement, that we have dumbed things down so much that we are searching 90 year old women for sneaker bombs. But if I had to be searched every single time I came through the airport because of my “race, religion, and appearace” (that was a direct quote from Smerconich on how to check for security risks), I think it would get old quick. All terrorists aren’t Middle Eastern, all Middle Eastern’s aren’t terrorists. Affirmative action has become a joke and all Christian’s don’t hate gays and abortion doctors. Where’s the line of decency?
The answer is: The line is just a jump rope; flimsily dropping to either side of any issue when convenient in times of fear and mass unrest, for political gain. All sides guilty. How do you like that! Oh wait, was that too P.C.?
